AUDIOCLIP, LUCKY IDENTIFICATION OF RADIO CAROLINE 648 KHz DURING A SHORT BREAK OF MURSKI VAL

 

Ascoltare Radio Caroline con il suo KW di potenza nella mia zona è cosa assai difficile, trasmettendo la nota stazione britannica in isofrequenza con la ben più potente Radio Murski Val dalla Slovenia. In effetti, dall'inizio delle trasmissioni sui 648 KHz non mi era mai capitato di ascoltare questa stazione e l'unico riscontro avuto è stato grazie al relay annuale da parte di Manx Radio sulla più agevole frequenza dei 1368 KHz da anni ormai libera dalle stazioni italiane. Il 9 novembre quando mancavano pochi minuti alla nostra  mezzanotte ho invece ascoltato il suono un po soffocato ma perfettamente decifrabile di "Working class hero" di John Lennon. In quei minuti Radio Murski Val non stava trasmettendo nulla e sul canale c'era solo una portante muta che consentiva un ascolto absatanza agevole di Radio Caroline. Finita la canzone, giusto il tempo di un annuncio di identificazione, Murski Val ha ricominciato a trasmettere, coprendo tutto come al solito. Cinque secondi prima e questa clip non ci sarebbe stata. :-) 

Listening to Radio Caroline with its power KW in my area is very difficult, transmitting the well-known British station in isofrequency with the much more powerful Radio Murski Val from Slovenia. In fact, since the beginning of the transmissions on 648 KHz I had never heard of this station and the only feedback I had was thanks to the annual relay by Manx Radio on the easier frequency of 1368 KHz for years now free from stations Italian. On November 9, when it was just a few minutes before our midnight, I listened to the somewhat muffled but perfectly decipherable sound of John Lennon's "Working class hero". In those minutes Radio Murski Val was not broadcasting anything and there was only a silent carrier on the channel that allowed easy listening to Radio Caroline. At the end of the song, just long enough for an identification announcement, Murski Val started broadcasting again, covering everything as usual. Five seconds ago and this clip wouldn't have been there. :-)
