La stazione didattico-sperimentale tedesca conosciuta familiarmente come trasmettitore Joe opera dalla città di Erlangen, Germania, con soli 6 watt di potenza sulla frequenza di 1485 KHz. Trasmette impulsi di 1000 hz con lo scopo di studiare la propagazione. A lunga distanza è abbastanza arduo ascoltare il tono trasmesso, tuttavia con semplici programmi tipo Spectran si può rilevarne la presenza in forma grafica. Nella email inviata per con il rapporto ho allegato anche la schermata di Spectran. La risposta per email con gli allegati qui pubblicati è arrivata dopo circa 9 ore.
The German didactic-experimental station known familiarly as the Joe Transmitter operates from Erlangen, Germany, with only 6 watts of power on the frequency of 1485 KHz. It transmits pulses of 1000 hz with the aim of studying propagation. At a long distance it is quite difficult to listen to the transmitted tone, however with simple programs such as Spectran it is possible to detect its presence in graphic form. In the email sent for with the report I also attached the Spectran screenshot. The reply by email with the attachments published here arrived after about 9 hours.

Yes, it is hard to read Joe out of the noise. However, several other Italian DXers had somewhat more luck and could copy Joe rather well. Propagation is not 100% predictable and may change from day to day.
