Esattamente 20 anni fa decodificando un segnale sulla frequenza di 12857 KHz mi sono imbattuto per la proma volta nel call 6WW. Con l'aiuto dell'esoso volume edito da Klingenfuss appresi che si trattava della stazione radio delle Marina Militare Francese ubicata nella località di Rufisque, Senegal. Inviato senza molte speranze un rapporto d'ascolto all'indirizzo indicato nel manuale, ebbi la sorpresa, un paio di mesi dopo, di ricevere una originale conferma con cartolina QSL artigianale ottenuta da una fotografia aerea della stazione trasmittente sul cui retro era stato applicato un foglio adesivo con i dati della conferma. Il sistema allora utilizzato per i marcatori di canali era il classico RTTY per la cui decodifica utilizzavo un pc con sistema operativo MSDOS e un modem della Nuova Elettronica collegato alla RS232 del pc. Avendo tralasciato per diverso tempo questo tipo di ascolto, ieri sera ho voluto provare l'ascolto dello STANAG che nel frattempo ha soppiantato quasi completamente il vecchio RTTY. Mi sono sintonizzato sulla frequenza che avevo sulla QSL ed effettivamente la 6WW era ancora li con la sua emissione test contenente l'identificativo della stazione e il pangramma "VOYEZ VOUS LE BRICK GEANT QUE J EXAMINE PRES DU GRAND WHARF" . With the help hexose book published by Klingenfuss I learned that it was of the French Navy Military radio station located in the town of Rufisque, Senegal. Posted without much hope of a deep relationship to the address indicated in the manual, I was surprised a few months later, to receive a confirmation postcard original artisan QSL obtained from an aerial photograph of the transmitting station on the back of which was applied a adhesive sheet with the confirmation data. The system then used for the markers of channels was the classic RTTY which I used for decoding a PC with MSDOS operating system and a modem connected to the RS232 of New Electronics pc. Having neglected for a long time this kind of listening, last night I wanted to try listening STANAG who has since almost completely supplanted the old RTTY. I tuned to the frequency that I had on the QSL and actually 6Ww was still there with its emission tests containing the identifier of the station and the pangram "voyez VOUS QUE J EXAMINE THE BRICK GEANT PRES DU GRAND WHARF".
