Dopo l'improvvida decisione della radio pubblica australiana ABC di abbandonare il servizio interno su onde corte una piccola stazione locale del Queensalnd Settentrionale, la 4KZ che attualmente opera in modulazione di frequenza e in onde medie dalla città di Innisfall, ha deciso di iniziare una nuona avventura affiancando alle sue trasmissioni in onde medie sui 531 KHz, la nuova frequenza onde corte di 5055 KHz. Lo si è appreso attraverso un comunicato dell'ammnistratore dell'emittente mr. At Kirton dal quale si apprende che le tarsmissioni inizieranno nel mese di maggio con una potenza di 1.5 KW e una antenna a V invertita. Questo nuovo trasmettitore dovrebbe coprire le zone più inpervie del Queensland Settentrionale che, per intenderci è la regione nord orientale del continente australiano con la caratteristica forma di un cuneo che va ad insinuarsi verso il vasto arcipelago indonesiano poco più a nord e conosciuto dagli amanti del mare di tutto il mondo per la sua barriera corallina. In May 2017 Radio 4KZ Innisfail in far North Queensland will commence transmission on 5055 kHz between about 9am and 4pm seven days a week.
The station will run 1.5kw into an inverted V antenna and will be in full simulcast of 4KZ, 531khz
