SEVERINO GAZZELLONI THE GOLDEN FLUTE BORN LISTENING TO THE RADIO

 


ROCCASECCA, INVERNO 1925. All'interno della cucina di una modesta abitazione come tante del piccolo borgo ciociaro, padre e figlio stanno ascoltando la radio. E 'uno dei primi innovativi ricevitori che ricevono l'ascolto di voci e suoni trasmessi attraverso le onde elettromagnetiche. Il signor Giuseppe, il padrone di casa, di mestiere fa il sarto, ma è anche un appassionato e bravo musicista dilettante che suona il flicorno baritono nella locale banda musicale, il figlio si chiama Severino, ha quasi 7 anni ed ha predisposizione e sensibilità naturale per la musica. Quella sera Giuseppe ha sintonizzato la potente stazione radio di Berlino che sta trasmettendo un concerto dei Berliner Philarmoniker. Il programma del concerto prevede tra gli altri l'esecuzione del Concerto in sol maggiore per flauto e orchestra di W: A. Mozart. Per il giovane Severino è una folgorazione, è in quel momento che deciderà che farà il musicista e che il suo strumento sarà il flauto. Due giorni dopo Giuseppe accompagna il figliolo dal Maestro Creati, valente musicista proveniente dalla Banda della marina, che aveva portato il complesso alla vittoria nel prestigioso Premio Mascagni. Sotto la sua direzione il giovane Severino inizia una prodigiosa carriera di musicista che lo porterà a calcare i palcoscenici di tutto il mondo insieme al suo flauto d'oro. Il concerto in sol maggiore di Mozart che lo aveva ispirato da bambino diventerà uno dei suoi cavalli di battaglia. SEVERINO GAZZELLONI NATO A ROCCASECCA IL 5 GENNAIO 1919.


ROCCASECCA, WINTER 1925. Inside the kitchen of a modest house like so many in the small Ciociaria village, father and son are listening to the radio. It is one of the first innovative receivers that allow you to listen to voices and sounds transmitted through electromagnetic waves. Mr. Giuseppe, the landlord, is a tailor by trade, but he is also a passionate and good amateur musician who plays the flugelhorn baritone in the local band, his son is called Severino, he is almost 7 years old and has natural predisposition and sensitivity for music. That evening Giuseppe tuned in to the powerful Berlin radio station which is broadcasting a concert by the Berliner Philarmoniker. The program of the concert includes, among others, the performance of the Concerto in G major for flute and orchestra by W: A. Mozart. For the young Severino it is a shock, it is in that moment that he decides that he will be a musician and that his instrument will be the flute. Two days later Giuseppe accompanies his son to Maestro Creati, a talented musician from the Navy Band, who had led the ensemble to victory in the prestigious Mascagni Award. Under his direction the young Severino begins a prodigious career as a musician that will lead him to tread the stages around the world together with his golden flute.
