Con il suo target di 37 ascoltatori, tanti sono gli addetti delle stazioni di ricerca britanniche che rimangono in servizio a Rothera, Bird Island e South Georgia nell'inverno antartico, la trasmissione speciale del World Service a loro dedicata ogni anno nel giorno del solstizio è potenzialmente quella a più basso indice d'ascolto del panorama radiofonico internazionale. In realtà, almeno per quanto riguarda il mondo del radioascolto, l'annuale appuntamento del 21 giugno è atteso e seguito da tutti gli appassionati del mondo che normalmente si uniscono ai destinatari della trasmissione condividendo quella mezz'ora di musica e saluti che amici e parenti dedicano ai loro cari che rimangono in servizio  Cosi è stato anche ieri sera, almeno a giudicare dalle segnalazioni e i commenti sui gruppi social dedicati al mondo della radio.  Ottima la ricezione sulle tre frequenze utilizzate: Woofferton sui 9585 e 11685 KHz e Ascenson Island sui 9870 KHz. With its target of 37 listeners, so many British research station workers remain on duty in Rothera, Bird Island and South Georgia in the Antarctic winter, the special World Service broadcast dedicated to them every year on the day of the solstice is potentially the one with the lowest audience rating on the international radio scene. AUDIOCLIP. RADIO TARMA, PERU, 4775 KHz

 

Tra le pochissime stazioni radio latino americane che ancora utilizzano la banda dei 60 metri spicca Radio Tarma che con i suoi 5 KW di potenza opera in onde corte, sulla frequenza di 4775 KHz dall'omonima Provincia Peruviana. L'emittente opera anche sulle onde medie e in banda FM. Il segnale si ascolta con una certa regolarità in Europa da dove provengono frequenti segnalazioni. Nel mio QTH abituale l'ascolto è sempre risultato molto difficoltoso a causa del QRM locale, ormai presente anche nelle ore notturne e segnali UTE persistenti. Leggermente migliore la situazione nel QTH abruzzese dove, comunque, il segnale è ricevibile solo utilizzando la banda laterale superiore. Primo ascolto dell'estate (e da molti mesi a questa parte) intorno alle 01.00 UTC con un segnale piuttosto basso.

Among the very few Latin American radio stations that still use the 60 meter band, Radio Tarma stands out which, with its 5 KW of power, operates in short waves, on the frequency of 4775 KHz from the Peruvian Province of the same name. The broadcaster also operates on medium waves and in the FM band. The signal is heard with some regularity in Europe where frequent reports come from. In my usual QTH listening has always been very difficult due to the local QRM, now present even at night and persistent UTE signals. The situation is slightly better in the Abruzzo QTH where, however, the signal is only receivable using the upper sideband. First listen of the summer (and for many months now) around 01.00 UTC with a rather low signal.
