AUDIOCLIP. THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE END OF IRISH LONGWAVE (AND AN OLD RECEPTION FROM 2022)

 

Oggi è l'ultimo giorno di attività del sito irlandese di Clarkestown operante in onde lunghe sui 252 KHz dal 1988, inizialmente ripetendo i programmi di Atlantic 252 e dal 2004 quelli di RTE' 1, il primo programma della radio nazionale irlandese. Il sito trasmittente eroga una potenza di 150 KW mentre in altri tempi la potenza operativa era di 300 KW, potenze che consentivano un'agevole copertura dell'arcipelago britannico e dell'Europa settentrionale. La sua chiusura era stata annunciata già dieci anni fa ma era stata rinviata per le forti pressioni provenienti dagli irlandesi residenti all'estero, in particolare quelli residenti nel Regno Unito. Questa volta però la chiusura sarà reale e definitiva. Annunciata verso la fine di marzo avrà luogo in data odierna: 14 aprile 2023. Di difficile ascolto nell'Italia centro meridionale a causa dell'isofrequenza con la stazione algerina di Tipaza che con i suoi 1500 KW occupa stabilmente la frequenza, era ascoltabile nelle ore notturne con buon segnale durante i mesi di spegnimento, per manutenzione, del sito algerino. Attualmente nel mio QTH l'ascolto è possibile solo attraverso i ricevitori via web ubicati Nell'Europa Settentrionale e nelle isole britanniche. Questo è l'annuncio della fine della trasmissioni in onde lunghe che da alcuni giorni viene inserito nella programmazione di RTE'1.

TRASMISSIONE ASCOLTATA NEL MIO QTH NEL 2022

Today is the last day of activity of the Irish site of Clarkestown which has been operating on longwave on 252 KHz since 1988, initially repeating the programs of Atlantic 252 and since 2004 those of RTE' 1, the first program of the Irish national radio. The transmitting site delivers a power of 150 KW while in other times the operating power was 300 KW, powers that allowed easy coverage of the British archipelago and northern Europe. Its closure had already been announced ten years ago but had been postponed due to strong pressure from Irish residents abroad, particularly those residing in the United Kingdom. This time, however, the closure will be real and definitive. Announced towards the end of March it will take place on today's date: 14 April 2023. Difficult to listen to in central-southern Italy due to the isofrequency with the Algerian station of Tipaza which with its 1500 KW occupies the frequency permanently, it was listenable at at night with good signal during the months when the Algerian site was shut down for maintenance. Currently in my QTH listening is only possible through web receivers located in Northern Europe and the British Isles. This is the announcement of the end of long wave broadcasting which has been included in RTE'1 programming for a few days.
