DRONE VIDEO. MONTE CIOCCI. THE LATEST MEDIUM-WAVE TRANSMITTER IN ROME


 Lo scorso anno la RAI, l'ente radiotelevisivo pubblico italiano, ha chiuso definitivamente le sue trasmissioni in onde medie. Uno dei pochi trasmettitori superstiti, neanche tra i più potenti e performanti, era ubicato a Roma, nella zona della Balduina-Valle Aurelia, al centro del parco di Monte Ciocci, La frequenza operativa era quella dei 1107 KHz con 10 KW di potenza nominale, probabilmente mai usati a pieno. Il sito è stato per anni al centro di feroci polemiche ambientaliste, ma dopo il suo spegnimento si sta sviluppando nella zona un movimento di persone che vorrebbe il mantenimento del traliccio come particolarità urbanistica del parco, un pò come è accaduto per il traliccio delle onde lunghe di Caltanissetta, mantenuto al suo posto a furor di popolo. Quello che accadrà del sito e dell'imponente traliccio si saprà solamente nei prossimi mesi. Al momento appare assai probabile il suo abbattimento.Un paio di anni fa, con il sito ancora attivo, un gruppo di video amatori ha realizzato questo bellissimo filmato utilizzando un drone per le riprese. Vedere questo manufatto da vicino con tutte le sue caratteristiche tecniche nel suggestivo panorama della città eterna è davvero spettacolare. L'ANTENNA DI MONTE CIOCCI - ROMA


Last year RAI, the Italian public broadcasting company, definitively closed its broadcasts on medium waves. One of the few surviving transmitters, not even among the most powerful and performing, was located in Rome, in the Balduina-Valle Aurelia area, in the center of the Monte Ciocci park. The operating frequency was that of 1107 KHz with 10 KW of nominal power, probably never used fully. The site has been at the center of fierce environmental controversy for years, but after it was shut down a movement of people is developing in the area who would like to maintain the pylon as an urban feature of the park, a bit like what happened with the long wave pylon of Caltanissetta, kept in place by popular acclaim. What will happen to the site and the imposing pylon will only be known in the coming months. At the moment it seems very probable that it will be demolished. A couple of years ago, with the site still active, a group of video amateurs made this beautiful video using a drone for filming.
