AUDIOCLIP. SOME SUNDAY MASS FROM IRELAND ON 27 MHz

 

Da oltre 30 anni molte parrocchie cattoliche irlandesi, sia nel territorio della Repubblica che nell'Ulster, hanno iniziato a trasmettere le loro celebrazioni religiose domenicali sulla banda riservata ai CB dei 27 MHz. Il fenomeno è nato quasi in sordina, per iniziativa di alcuni parroci che in questo modo hanno voluto avvicinare le celebrazioni delle Chiese locali alle persone che per i motivi di lavoro o di salute erano impossibilitate alla presenza fisica nei luoghi di celebrazione. I primi tentativi di utilizzare la banda cittadina a questo scopo risalgono addirittura alla seconda metà degli anni 80 iniziando con la ritrasmissione sui 27 MHz di voci e testimonianze dei fedeli registrate in precedenza su audiocassette. Il passo successivo fu quello di adattare i ricetrasmettitori alle emissioni in diretta e diffondere le celebrazioni in tempo reale. Le antenne per la banda degli 11 metri non sono di grande ingombro e montarle sui campanili sempre presenti nei luoghi di culto non crea eccessive difficoltà. In questo modo anche con piccole potenze e utilizzando la FM stretta è possibile avere una buona copertura radio locale delle celebrazioni. Poi però capita che  in alcuni periodi la propagazione F2 ci metta lo zampino e che la messa trasmessa dalla parrocchia di una sperduta contea irlandese venga ascoltata anche a migliaia di Km di distanza.  Nel corso degli anni all'aumentare del numero di queste stazioni è corrisposto un altrettanto incremento  di interesse da parte dei dxers e degli appassionati di radioascolto che hanno iniziato a dare la caccia a queste stazioni che la domenica mattina  movimentano la ormai poco frequentata banda degli 11 metri. Molte di queste stazioni rispondono anche ai rapporti d'ascolto andando a incrementare il terreno di caccia delle QSL. Gli ascolti che vi propongo sono invece di domenica 26 novembre 2023 tra le 10 e le 12 UTC. Per brevità vi propongo solo tre delle numerose stazioni che si ascoltavano.

In this way, even with small powers and using narrow FM it is possible to have good local radio coverage of the celebrations. But then it happens that in some periods F2 propagation has a hand in it and that the mass broadcast from the parish of a remote Irish county is heard even thousands of kilometers away. Over the years, the increase in the number of these stations has corresponded to an equally increased interest on the part of dxers and radio listening enthusiasts who have begun to hunt down these stations which enliven the now little frequented band of 11 on Sunday mornings. meters. Many of these stations also respond to listening reports, increasing the QSL hunting ground. The ratings I propose are for Sunday 26 November 2023 between 10 and 12 UTC.
