L'ATTIVITA' IN 10 METRI DI 5X4E - PAOLO
Dopo l'affollato fine settimana dedicato al CQ World Wide contest, che possiamo considerare l'equivalente radiantistico della coppa del mondo di calcio, la banda dei dieci metri continua a fornire sorprese e interessanti spunti di ascolto non necessariamente legati al solo aspetto radioamatoriale. Capita a volte infatti che al di la del normale scambio di dati tecnici sulla qualità del collegamento, si scoprano virtuose realtà, sconosciute ai più, di impegno sociale e abnegazione nei confronti degli "ultimi", ovvero coloro che per i motivi più disparati ma quasi sempre legati alla povertà, vengono relegati ai margini della società. Quella del sacerdote missionario e radioamatore è una figura per certi versi mitica del radiantismo e si è sviluppata più per necessità che per hobby nel secolo scorso. Operando in zone isolate prive di infrastrutture destinate alle Comunicazioni, la radio era l'unico mezzo per questi missionari di tenere contatti rapidi e frequenti con le aree di provenienza. Con l'avvento della telefonia mobile e della possibilità di usufruire di collegamenti satellitari questa dipendenza dalla radio è notevolmente diminuita ma in queste strutture una stazione ricetrasmittente continua ad esserci e a volte torna molto utile. In molti casi queste stazioni di radioamatore costituiscono, al di la di episodiche spedizioni DX, l'unica possibilità di mettere a log questi Paesi.
L'Uganda è un Paese immediatamente a ridosso dell'Africa orientale, ha 46 milioni di abitanti e coi suoi 596 dollari di PIL pro capite si colloca al 174° posto nella classifica mondiale. Dalla sua indipendenza nel 1962 la vita del Paese è stata caratterizzata da esplosioni di violenza che hanno portato a guerre civili e dittature. Tristemente ed universalmente conosciuti sono i nomi di Idi Amin Dada, presidente padrone dell'Uganda per tutti gli anni 70 e Joseph Kony, leader del Lord's Resistence Army organizzazione militare che si è caratterizzata efferatezze di ogni genere e per la sistematica violazione dei diritti umani non solo in Uganda ma anche nei Paesi confinanti.
Dal punto di vista radiantistico l'Uganda si colloca al 140° posto su 340 tra i country "most wanted" e il prefisso 5X suscita sempre interesse e pile up affollati quando lo si ascolta on air come è capitato nei giorni scorsi, quando 5X4E ha iniziato a chiamare sui 10 metri. Dopo qualche QSO in inglese l'operatore Paolo ha risposto in italiano a un ham che lo chiamava dalla penisola. Inconfondibile il suo accento veneto, come lui stesso ha ironizzato nel passaggio iniziale del QSO che dopo i consueti scambi di rapporti prosegue con un breve racconto sull'attività svolta dal radioamatore nella località di Gulu nel nord del Paese. Paolo si trova in Uganda da oltre 12 anni in una struttura, la "St. Jude Children's Home" creata dai padri comboniani che ospita bambini malati e disabili vittime di abbandono, un fenomeno purtroppo molto diffuso in queste aree. Spinto dalla curiosità sono andato a visitare la PAGINA DI 5X4E su qrz.com dove viene narrata sia l'attività di Paolo e della sua compagna Sara che la storia di questa struttura che ospita attualmente 65 bambini dei quali 25 affetti da gravi disabilità. Ovviamente, la struttura che fa capo a una onlus con sede a Belluno , non naviga nell'oro e nella pagina è presente anche un link per eventuali donazioni via Paypal.
Ascolti di questo genere non possono che riconciliarti con il mondo della radio e dimostrano che il radiantismo non sempre si ferma al dettaglio tecnico o alle dispendiose spedizioni DX per attivare i Country più improbabili ma a volte, inserendosi in contesti per noi difficilmente immaginabili, riesce, per alcuni, a fare la differenza.

Listenings of this kind can only reconcile you with the world of radio and demonstrate that radio does not always stop at technical details or expensive DX expeditions to activate the most unlikely Countries but sometimes, inserted in contexts for night clubs that are difficult to imagine, it manages, for some, to make the difference.
