La ripresa delle trasmissioni in onde corte di Radio Mali sulla storica frequenza dei 5995 KHz ha suscitato un notevole interesse nella comunità internazionale degli appassionati di radio ascolto che negli ultimi anni sono stati abituati più agli spegnimenti che alle riattivazioni come è capitato con la fine del mese di marzo con Channel Africa la cui chiusura ha messo fine alla memorabile tradizione radiofonica della Repubblica del Sud Africa. In passato la stazione si ascoltava con una certa continuità anche se l'ascolto non risultava sempre agevole a causa dell'affollamento della frequenza utilizzata e dai continui problemi agli impianti di trasmissione. Anche dopo la riattivazione un ascolto con buona qualità di suono e segnale può essere effettuato solo in determinate fasce orarie, coincidendo propagazione e canale libero. Una di queste finestre si è aperta nella prima parte della notte fra sabato e domenica scorsa quando dai 5995 KHz arrivava il sound caratteristico del Mali con una play list trasmessa ininterrottamente per oltre 40 minuti senza interventi parlati. Poco prima delle 22.30 UTC una voce femminile ha finalmente annunciato l'identificazione della stazione seguito da un notiziario in lingua francese della durata di circa 15 minuti, al termine del quale è iniziato un programma dediche con telefonate in diretta degli ascoltatori. Il tutto, come potete ascoltare dalla clip audio contenente l'identificazione e l'inizio del notiziario, con una qualità di segnale davvero notevole.
The resumption of Radio Mali shortwave broadcasts on the historic 5995 KHz frequency has aroused considerable interest in the international radio listening community that in recent years has become more accustomed to switching off than to reactivations as happened at the end of the month of March with Channel Africa whose closure put an end to the memorable radio tradition of the Republic of South Africa. In the past the station was listened with a certain continuity even if the listening was not always easy because of the crowding of the frequency used and by the continuous problems to the transmission systems. Even after reactivation, listening with good sound and signal quality can only be carried out in certain time slots, coinciding with propagation and free channel. One of these windows opened in the first part of the night between last Saturday and Sunday when from 5995 KHz the characteristic sound of Mali arrived with a play list continuously transmitted for over 40 minutes without spoken speeches. Shortly before 10.30 pm UTC a female voice finally announced the identification of the station followed by a news bulletin in French for about 15 minutes, at the end of which a dedication program was started with live phone calls from listeners. All this, as you can hear from the audio clip containing the identification and the beginning of the news, with a truly remarkable signal quality.
