DSC MODE, PRINCE RUPERT CANADIAN COAST GUARD 12577 KHz

La ricezione delle stazioni costiere che operano in DSC non riserva solitamente molte sorprese. A seconda della propagazione e dell'ora di ascolto si leggono quasi sempre gli stessi nomi, quelli delle stazioni più potenti e interessate da un maggior volume di traffico. A volte però la fortuna ci mette lo zampino e qualche new one può anche capitare. E' il caso della stazione radio della Guardia Costiera Canadese che opera da Prince Rupert cittadina di circa 12000 abitanti principale località di Kaien Island una delle tantissime isole che caratterizzano la frastagliata orografia della British Columbia e la confinante Alaska. La località dista in linea d'aria circa 750 Km a nord di Vancouver. L'ascolto, il primo in assoluto dalla West Coast canadese è stato effettuato sulla frequenza di 12577 KHz.

Receiving coastal stations operating in DSC does not usually reserve many surprises. Depending on the propagation and the time of listening, you almost always read the same names, those of the most powerful stations and those affected by a greater volume of traffic. Sometimes, however, luck plays a part and some new one can also happen. This is the case of the Canadian Coast Guard radio station operating from Prince Rupert, a town of about 12,000 inhabitants, the main town on Kaien Island, one of the many islands that characterize the rugged orography of British Columbia and neighboring Alaska. The town is about 750 km north of Vancouver as the crow flies. The listening, the first ever from the Canadian West Coast, was carried out on the frequency of 12,577 KHz.
