San Panfilo d'Ocre è un suggestivo piccolo borgo non lontano da L'Aquila. Si trova a quota 850 s.l.m. e da molti anni ho la fortuna di trascorrervi dei periodi di ottimo relax tra passeggiate in montagna, barbecue, visite a siti archeologici, musei e ovviamente radioascolto. Il luogo è ancora abbastanza libero dai disturbi tipici dei condomini di città e avendo la possibilità di stendere fili di discreta lunghezza si fanno sempre degli ascolti interessanti. Negli anni 90 la situazione era anche migliore rispetto ad ora e in quel periodo c'era ancora un po' di vita sulle bande tropicali. In una di queste occasioni, la QSL riporta la data del 15 luglio 1997, mi è capitato di ascoltare Radio France Inter ripetuta in onde corte sulla frequenza di 5055 KHz. Per essere sicuro dell'identificazione ho fatto un controllo sui 162 KHz constatando che la trasmissione era in parallelo. La ritrasmissione del segnale avveniva attraverso i trasmettitori della RFO nella Guyana Francese. A seguire rapida compilazione del rapporto d'ascolto e spedizione in giornata dal piccolo ufficio postale del paese del quale ero cliente fisso durante i periodi di permanenza e ricezione di questa QSL circa 30 giorni dopo. E' stata l'unica volta che sono riuscito ad ascoltare questa stazione. Nei giorni successivi il segnale non arrivava più e negli anni successivi tutti abbiamo visto il progressivo abbandono delle bande tropicali.
San Panfilo d'Ocre is a charming little village not far from L'Aquila. It is located at an altitude of 850 m above sea level and for many years I have been lucky enough to spend some very relaxing periods there, between walks in the mountains, barbecues, visits to archaeological sites, museums and obviously radio listening. The place is still quite free from the typical disturbances of city apartment buildings and having the possibility of laying out wires of a reasonable length always makes for interesting listening. In the 90s the situation was even better than now and in that period there was still some life on the tropical bands. On one of these occasions, the QSL is dated July 15, 1997, I happened to listen to Radio France Inter repeated on short waves on the frequency of 5055 KHz. To be sure of the identification I checked on 162 KHz and found that the transmission was in parallel. The retransmission of the signal was via the RFO transmitters in French Guyana. Following a quick compilation of the listening report and same-day dispatch from the small post office of the town where I was a regular customer during the periods of stay and receipt of this QSL about 30 days later. It was the only time I managed to listen to this station. In the following days the signal no longer arrived and in the following years we all saw the progressive abandonment of the tropical bands.
